Jared's Journal Entry #1

(2.14.2006)

WHATS UP!!!!!

IT'S YOUR BOY, JARED

THIS IS THE FIRST INSTALLMENT, OF WHAT WILL BE MY BI-MONTHLY JOURNAL ENTRY/UPDATE!!!
Through this newsletter, i will let you know what i'm thinking and doing.

WELL, ITS 2006, AND hedpe IS BACK ON TRACK, AND READY TO RELEASE WHAT HAS PROVEN TO BE A VERY MAGICKAL ALBUM.
Please notice, that in the previous paragraph, I spelled "magic" with a "K"
Allow me to explain.

Alleister Crowley first added the "K" to distinguish between two different kinds of magic.
Magic, with a "C", refers to illusions, or slight-of-hand; you know, pulling a rabbit from a hat, and shit like that.
Magick with a "K", refers to the actual manipulation of forces unseen, through rituals, such as candle lighting, incantations, or the like.
Most people think you're crazy when you bring up Magick, but then again, think about it, what is a Christian attempting to do when he or she prays?
When people of the Jewish faith light a candle, fill a glass with wine, and pray, believing God is listening extra careful on the Sabbath, are they doing magick? I think they are.
When the Native Americans performed "rain dances", were they doing magick? I think so.
It turns out that Harry Potter, and the dark side of the Force, as referenced in Star Wars, are closer to the truth than you might think.
This is an introduction, a hint, to the topics i will cover in the upcoming album.
It was the symbolism found on the dollar bill that led me down this path.
When I was a child, I thought "if witches are real, they would rule the world..."
It turns out that they are... and they do.
Their symbols are everywhere...

...to be continued.

(hed) Inks Deal With KOCH RECORDS

(June 11, 2004)
You heard it here first. (hed) have officially inked a deal with the indie giant KOCH RECORDS. For those that don't know, KOCH RECORDS is the leader of indie labels with a most impressive roster. Check out Koch's website here.
The band is currently in pre-production and are slated to drop a full length CD (13-15 joints) in September 2004.

The Box

(May 23, 2004)
It's been pretty quiet on the (hed) front. Jahred did record another track called "The Box." Lyrically, he's dissing the music industry. Musically, the hook is semi-heavy but it doesn't resemble any of the other demo'd tracks (not punk, less hip-hop).  by HEDrocks.com

(hed) p.e. Released From Jive Records

(January 01, 2004)
It's official: (hed)p.e. have been dropped from their long time label, Jive/Volcano. This comes as no surprise, considering the label's inability to properly market (hed) over the years, which resulted in disappointing record sales.

To follow up on rumors that (HED)P.E have broken up, it's been confirmed that:
- guitarist Sonny Mayo
- drummer B.C

...have apparently left the band.

It's unclear whether the band will find a replacement for the 2 of them or whether the band will disband, yet as we previously reported, signs point to the latter.

Video Blackout

(01/09/2003)
(hed)p.e. will be shooting a video for the title track to their upcoming new album "Blackout" in the coming weeks with the direction team of Vem & Tony (Cam'ron, Apex Theory) at the helm. The song is slated to impact at radio on February 03rd and will begin airing on the same day. Band frontman Jahred recently talked about the treatment for the impending video saying:

"I don't want to give anything away, but I can tell you that this is gonna be the dopest video our fans have ever seen! I'm pumped just thinking about it and I can't wait to get on the set already. All I can say is this: Beware of the Shadows."

"Blackout" will see a release on March 18th through Jive.

Jahred Says Bush Is A 'Redneck'

(LAUNCH, 11/03/2000 6:00 PM) By Craig Rosen
(11/3/00, 6 p.m. ET) - Jahred, the lead vocalist for (hed) P.E., has no love lost for Texas Governor George W. Bush. The frontman says that, while Vice President Al Gore is hardly much more appealing, there is no question who he will be voting for in Tuesday's (November 7) election.

"It's just the lesser of two evils. You want Gore or Bush, you probably don't like either of them," he says. "But for sure you can't go for Bush 'cause he's a redneck, and he's a member of the Grand Old Party. It was the racists that founded the Republican Party. Just that alone for me just makes me go out and tell everyone, 'Please vote for Gore, please.' Don't let that idiot Bush in the White House."

Jahred adds, "Bush can't even speak the English language."

Jahred and (hed) P.E. remain on the road in support of their second and latest album, Broke.
